Drew Stromberg - Students For Sensible Drug Policy

Drew Stromberg - Outreach Director - Students For Sensible Drug Policy - August 2, 2013

Drew Stromberg is the Outreach Director for the Mid-Atlantic, Southern, and Mountain Plains regions and the International Network of Students for Sensible Drug Policy. Drew tracks, advises, and develops chapters and student leaders into effective policy reformers. Drew got involved with Students for Sensible Drug Policy in 2009 when he founded the chapter at West Virginia University. Drew presided over the WVU chapter from 2009 to 2011 and interned at the national office in Washington, D.C. in the summer of 2010.

For Colorado’s Amendment 64 campaign, Drew built a specialized phonebank tool which students and activists from across the country used to make more than 18,000 phone calls to Colorado voters in support of Amendment 64. Additionally, Drew helped coordinate and oversee the on-the-ground student-oriented GOTV effort in the final days of the campaign, where volunteers engaged with more than 10,000 student voters on six Colorado college campuses.

Students for Sensible Drug Policy (SSDP) is the only international network of students dedicated to ending the war on drugs. At its heart, SSDP is a grassroots organization, led by a student-run Board of Directors. They create change by bringing young people together and creating safe spaces for students of all political and ideological stripes to have honest conversations about drugs and drug policy.

Founded in 1998, SSDP comprises thousands of members at hundreds of campuses in countries around the globe.
